Learn more about University Housing

University Housing, consistent with the academic mission of North Carolina State University, strives to create positive growth environments for students by providing programs, services, and facilities that promote educational, social and cultural development. We employ over 500 student staff members to serve approximately 10,000 students living on the NC State campus.

Our values of diversity, student engagement, personal development, customer service and stewardship guide our daily work. We work hard to create a transformative residential experience that stimulates student growth and empowers individuals to reach their full potential. The 2018-20019 academic year will be the second year of our first-year live-on requirement, and we are looking forward to continuing to support first-year students in an educationally-rich environment.

Susan GrantResidential education is the cornerstone of our operations with our residential curriculum, Experience & Engage in its second year of implementation.  Our sixteen Living and Learning Villages engage students both inside and outside the classroom and are a great example of our strong campus partnerships. We are proud of our high-impact Villages, collaborative campus partnerships, well-maintained facilities, and our ability to recruit and retain top staff.

From the Director

We are excited that you are interested in working at NC State!  Our university has a history of leading students and staff in new and innovative activities that respond to solving the world’s problems. Our motto of Think and Do guides us in these endeavors and provides the foundation for many of our activities for campus residents.

NC State houses close to 10,000 residents in 20 residence halls and 4 apartment complexes. The Experience and Engage residential curriculum, developed by our current staff, provides the foundation for first-year student success. Our residents succeed academically due to efforts to actively connect them with campus resources and activities that integrate classroom learning with co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

University Housing is an organization on the move to developing staff and students to their fullest potential.  If you have a passion for helping students succeed and ideas that will challenge and motivate staff and residents, University Housing at NC State is the place for you!  We believe that the strength of the pack is in the individual wolves. Explore what the Wolfpack can do for you and what you can do for the Wolfpack!  – Susan Grant, Director, University Housing
