When speaking to parents about their own college experiences, one of the most treasured memories that they recall are those that came from living on campus. Although things have changed significantly
since they graced campuses in the late 80’s or early 90’s, the importance of having an on-campus living experience is the same.
“Don’t be afraid to go to events and meet people. Don’t be afraid to talk to people in your classes. This girl I met during orientation and I took a class together and I met my entire friend group through her.”
“Above all else, just be yourself on campus. Universities take pride in the fact that they have so many different people, different backgrounds and ethnicities. You do have something to contribute to the university [culture] and by being yourself you will make new friends and discover the things on campus that fit you.” –Matthew Roach
