Moving into your on-campus room or apartment is an exciting yet hectic time for both new and returning students. The University Housing staff is here to help. We’ll do our very best to make the move-in process easy so you can settle into your new home as quickly as possible.
Fall 2018 Move-In
Friday, August 17 – 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Volunteers will be available to assist with unloading.
Saturday, August 18 – 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Volunteers will be available to assist with unloading.
Sunday, August 19 – All day. Residents should check in at their resident service desk.
Important Dates and Times
- Residents granted permission to move-in early should follow the directions sent by the village or community director.
- The Wolf Den [room] Design Competition runs August 17 through August 21.
- Get ready for Wolfpack Welcome Week, a week of exciting events including Packapalooza!
- The first day of classes is Wednesday, August 22, 2018

Check out NC State’s convenient and popular bike-share program LimeBike! The new program means you may want to leave your own bike at home to avoid theft or damage. Some items are better shared between roommates like coffee pots, curtains, lounge chairs, area rugs, etc.

Residents who have been granted permission to move into their fall assignment early should print a temporary parking placard (updates for Fall 2018 will be available in July) to be displayed while unloading. These placards are managed by NC State Transportation. If you have not received early move-in information from your hall or village director, please check the Early Move-In webpage for additional details.
