Plan Your Route to Campus

Visit the Transportation Fall Move-in site to print and review the zone permit for your assigned residence hall. The directions for move-in may differ from GPS directions due to construction in and around campus.

*Tram service will be available for Bowen, Carroll, and Metcalf residence halls on Thursday, August 15, Friday, August 16, and Saturday, August 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Follow the directions on your Central Campus Blue transportation placard to access the Coliseum Parking Deck. Staff will be available to assist you.

Reserved spaces are for unloading only. Once you have completed your unloading, move your vehicle(s) to the areas designated for early check-in long-term parking.

Packing For Your Arrival

Print this PDF packing list or save a copy of the Google Doc. Before you go shopping, be sure to talk with your roommate and compare notes. Some items are better shared between roommates like coffee pots, curtains, lounge chairs, area rugs, etc. Here are some sustainable ideas from our friends at NC State’s Waste Reduction and Recycling department to save you money and room clutter. Love to ride your bike? Check out NC State’s convenient and popular bike-share program LimeBike! The program means you may want to leave your own bike at home to avoid theft or damage. NC State offers easy access to traditional and motorized bikes as well as motorized Lime Scooters. [read more]

Pack your things in stackable containers and label each container with your last name, building and room number.  This will be extremely helpful during the move-in process, as volunteers will be set up in many locations to assist with getting items to your building/room.
